Noah Tambo was born in Harare, the capital city of Zimbabwe. He is the fifth of six and Noah attended primary school at Tashinga Primary and secondary school at Tafara High 1.
He was inspired and encouraged to sculpt by his friend Goodson Mlera in 2004, during high school. In 2005 he became a full-time artist and started working with Goodson as his assistant. “I never knew that I would become a sculptor because I always liked drawing and painting, but when I started sculpting, that’s when I found that I have talent”.
Noah has developed a style that is instantly recognisable, his sharp geometric forms are juxtaposed with smooth polished surfaces. By creating “faceless” figures, his sculptures show a sense of empathy and solidarity. In each piece, the viewer can see themselves, their sister or their mother. His artwork is universal, his vision, and his enlightened.
Noah is a Sculptor and Secretary at Zimbabwe Uprising Generation of Artists. His artwork is shown and collected internationally.
